House returns to top five

Global's House won Monday night and took a spot in the top five, but CTV's Grey's Anatomy still outranked it in medi-dramas.

Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for April 28-May 4.

Hockey, news and daily shows: The CBC’s NHL Playoffs Round Two averaged 1.395 million for the week (except for Friday), hitting #16. The average was down from the previous week’s hockey high of 1.653 million. The playoff postgame took #27 for all nights but Friday and Sunday, averaging 875,000 viewers. CTV Evening News at 6 pm hit #18 with an average minute audience of 1.323 million (down from 1.387 million on the previous week’s national chart), while the net’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm took #24 for its Tuesday/Friday average of 1.04 million (down from 1.113 million). CTV National News at 11 pm hit #25 with 937,000 viewers (up from 878,000).

Monday: Global’s House at 9 pm won the night, hitting #5 with 2.073 million viewers. CTV’s CSI: Miami at 10 pm took #11 with 1.759 million (down from 2.036 million), while Dancing with the Stars, airing 8-9:38 pm, hit #12 with 1.699 million (up from 1.643 million). Global’s Bones at 8 pm took #14 with 1.461 million (up from 1.361 million).

Tuesday: CTV’s American Idol at 8 pm kept #1 with 2.726 million (up from 2.461 million). The net’s Law and Order: SVU at 10 pm hit #4 with 2.136 million, while Dancing with the Stars took #6 with 2.034 million (up from 1.818 million). Global’s NCIS at 8 pm hit #17 with 1.378 million (up from 1.281 million).

Wednesday: CTV’s American Idol at 9 pm kept #2 with 2.493 million (up from 2.353 million). The net ruled all other time slots for the night. CSI: New York at 10 pm hit #7 with 1.96 million (down from Law & Order‘s 1.974 million the previous week). Criminal Minds at 8 pm took #15 with 1.412 million (up from 1.272 million in the previous week’s 10 pm time slot). Law & Order at 7 pm hit #22 with 1.118 million viewers.

Thursday: CTV’s Grey’s Anatomy at 9 pm stayed at #3 with 2.284 million (up from 2.118 million). The net’s CSI at 8 pm took #9 with 1.877 million (up from 1.858 million). Global’s Survivor: Micronesia at 8 pm fell to #10 with 1.875 million (down from 1.949 million). CTV’s Lost at 10 pm hit #19 with 1.322 million (down from 1.443 million), while ER at 7 pm took #26 with 876,000 viewers.

Friday: CTV’s Ghost Whisperer at 8 pm hit #20 with 1.218 million (up from 1.003 million). Global’s Numb3rs at 10 pm took #21 with 1.151 million (up from 968,000).

Saturday: Aside from hockey programming, CTV’s weekend news at 6 pm was the only show on the chart, taking #28 with a Saturday-Sunday average of 870,000 viewers (down from 920,000 million).

Sunday: CTV’s Desperate Housewives at 9 pm hit #8 with 1.884 million (up from 1.823 million). The net’s Cold Case at 8 pm took #13 with 1.61 million (up from 1.04 million). Global’s Family Guy at 9 pm hit #23 with 1.097 million (down from 1.102 million), while The Simpsons at 8 pm took #29 with 858,000 viewers. CTV’s Dexter at 10 pm hit #30 with 819,000 (down from 991,000).
