RocketXL lands Ikea

The Toronto-based agency has been named social media agency of record for Ikea in Canada.

Rocket XL has been named social media agency of record for Ikea Canada, the agency announced Wednesday.

The Toronto-based agency, owned by parentco Vision7 International, has been operating in Canada since 2009 and its client roster includes Samsung Canada, the NHL, and Cadbury and P&G brands.

‘We are constantly looking to find fresh and innovative ways to put our brand forward and social media is a crucial element in our brand-building strategy,’ Hilary Lloyd, deputy marketing manager, Ikea Canada, said in a release. ‘We want a partner that understands the space and brings a history of delivering measureable results for clients. Rocket XL brings a fresh, social media-centric approach.’

Other agencies handling Ikea business under the Esprit de Corps/Vision 7 umbrella include Optimum for public relations and Jungle Media for media. Creative on the account is handled by Crispin Porter + Bogusky’s Canadian office, which acquired Ikea’s former creative AOR, Zig, last year.
