Idol returns to #1
BBM/Nielsen Top 30 – April 14-20

CTV's American Idol took back #1 on Tuesday, while CSI sank to #9 on Thursday - a fall that delivered a win for Global's Survivor: Micronesia.

Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for April 14-20.

News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm hit #12 with an average minute audience of 1.364 million viewers (up from 1.326 million on the previous week’s national chart). CBC’s NHL Playoffs Round One, airing 7-9:50 pm, took #16 with 1.236 million (up from 1.299 million) for 7-9:50 pm, while its 10 pm-1 am airings hit #25 with 815,000 viewers (up from 965,000 on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday the previous week). CTV’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm took #20 with a 979,000 average for its Tuesday-Friday airings (down from 1.042 million). Global’s The Young & The Restless at 4:30 pm hit #24 with 818,000 viewers. Global National at 5:30 pm took #28 with 793,000 (down from 835,000). CTV National News at 11 pm hit #29 with 792,000 (down from 822,000).

Monday: CTV’s Dancing with the Stars, airing 9-9:32 pm, hit #8 with 1.652 million (down from 1.974 million). Global’s Bones at 8 pm took #14 with 1.265 million. CTV’s Medium at 10 pm hit #17 with 1.22 million (down from 1.453 million), while Corner Gas at 9:32 pm took #18 with 1.192 million (up from 1.076 million).

Tuesday: CTV’s American Idol at 8 pm was back at #1 with 2.594 million (up from 2.438 million). The net’s Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm hit #4 with 1.896 million (up from 1.109 million), while Dancing with the Stars hit #6 with 1.829 million in the 9 pm time slot (up from 1.784 million). Global’s NCIS at 8 pm took #10 with 1.518 million (up from 1.471 million).

Wednesday: CTV’s American Idol at 9 pm hit #2 with 2.313 million (up from 1.508 million average for the previous week’s 7:30-10:09 pm special). The net’s CSI: New York at 10 pm took #3 with 2.2 million (up from 1.329 million), while Criminal Minds at 8 pm hit #11 with 1.488 million viewers. Global’s Big Brother at 8 pm took #28 with 800,000 (down from 808,000).

Thursday: Global’s Survivor: Micronesia at 8 pm hit #5 with 1.853 million (down from 1.901 million). CTV’s CSI at 9 pm took #9 with 1.561 million (down from 2.881 million). The net’s ER at 10 pm hit #13 with 1.275 million (down from 1.331 million), while Eli Stone at 8 pm took #21 with 929,000 viewers.

Friday: Global’s Numb3rs at 10 pm took #26 with 805,000 viewers (down from 963,000).

Saturday: Other than the week’s playoff averages, the only Saturday programming to make the charts was news. CTV’s weekend news at 6 pm attracted a Saturday-Sunday average of 1.025 million (up from 1.014 million).

Sunday: CTV’s Desperate Housewives at 9 pm stayed at #7 with 1.765 million (up from 1.763 million), while Oprah’s Big Give at 8 pm kept #15 with 1.24 million (up from 1.118 million). The net’s Medium at 10 pm hit #22 with 921,000 viewers, while Cold Case at 7 pm took #23 with 907,000. Global’s Big Brother at 8 pm hit #30 with 792,000 viewers.
