Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for Feb. 25-Mar. 2.
News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm hit #7 with an average minute audience of 1.469 million viewers (up from 1.44 million on the previous week’s national chart). The net’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm took #11 with 1.169 million (up from 1.046 million). Global National at 5:30 pm hit #20 with 960,000 (up from 940,000), while News Hour at 6 pm took #24 with 908,000 (up from 892,000). Global’s The Young & The Restless at 4:30 pm hit #28 with 867,000 viewers.
Monday: CTV’s Medium at 10 pm won the night’s highest audience, hitting #10 with 1.188 million (up from 1.142 million). The net’s Moment of Truth at 8 pm took #15 with 1.068 million viewers (down from the 1.409 million who watched Corner Gas but more than the 915,000 who stayed around for Welcome to the Captain in the previous week’s 8-9 pm hour). The net’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles at 9 pm hit #22 with 935,000 (down from 949,000).
Tuesday: CTV’s American Idol, airing 8-9:30 pm, hit #1 with 2.353 million (up from 2.236 million). The net’s Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm took #14 with 1.088 million viewers. CBC’s Rick Mercer Report at 8 pm hit #17 with 1.025 million (up from 856,000). Global’s NCIS at 8 pm took #26 with 896,000 (down from 1.012 million), while Big Brother at 9 pm hit #30 with 824,000 viewers.
Wednesday: CTV’s American Idol, airing 8-9:30 pm, hit #2 with 2.213 million (down from 2.512 million), followed by Law & Order at 10 pm, which took #8 with 1.453 million (down from 1.794 million). CBC’s Little Mosque on the Prairie at 8 pm hit #18 with 1.022 million (up from 898,000).
Thursday: CTV’s American Idol Special at 8 pm took #3 with 2.033 million (up from 1.845 million) against Global’s Survivor: Micronesia, which hit #4 with 1.816 million (down from 1.978 million). CTV’s Lost won 9 pm at #6 with 1.529 million (down from 1.615 million) against Global’s Celebrity Apprentice, which took #16 with 1.042 million (down from 1.089 million). CTV’s Eli Stone hit the chart again at #23 with 922,000 viewers.
Friday: CTV’s Ghost Whisperer at 9 pm was the only show to hit the chart, taking #27 with 873,000 viewers (down from 950,000).
Saturday: CTV’s Saturday-Sunday average for its weekend news at 6 pm hit #9 with 1.222 million (up from 1.078 million). The net’s W-Five at 7 pm took #12 with 1.124 million (up from 902,000). CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada Game One, airing 9-10:03 pm, took #13 with 1.09 million (down from 1.151 million). CTV’s Crimetime Saturdays programming at 10 pm hit #25 with 906,000 viewers.
Sunday: CTV’s Oprah’s Big Give at 9 pm hit #5 with 1.719 million viewers. At 10 pm, the net’s Dexter took #19 with 1.021 million. Global’s Big Brother won 8 pm at #21 with 941,000 viewers against CTV’s Cold Case, which hit #29 with 835,000.
