There’s been a changing of the guard at MediaCom’s North American head office this week as the agency announced North American CEO Doug Checkeris has stepped down.
Into his place moves Harvey Goldhersz, a 28-year MediaCom veteran who most recently served as vice chairman and worldwide COO of MediaCom. Goldhersz will maintain his global role in addition to his new North American responsibilities.
Checkeris resigned his role at the agency to pursue other interests, a press release on the announcement states. Recently, MediaCom lost its billion-dollar GlaxoSmithKline account to PHD’s US division, which capped a series of account losses in 2010, including beverage giant Diageo.
Goldhersz will oversee management and operation of MediaCom’s six offices in the US and Canada and an estimated $7.4 billion in billings, the release said. He reports to MediaCom’s worldwide CEO Stephen Allan.
