There are 144 regular season Blue Jays games coming up on three different Canadian nets. Rogers Sportsnet leads with 100 games, while TSN and CBC have 20 and 24, respectively. Without the Grey Cup this year, CBC picked up 16 more (after losing this year’s Grey Cup to TSN), the same number long-time Blue Jays broadcaster Rogers took off its sked for 2008. Rogers’ The Fan 590 will continue to cover the games for the radio waves.
The games continue to draw strong audiences for TSN. Over the last three seasons (2005-07), the Blue Jays averaged 401,000 viewers per game, marking a 44% increase over the three previous years (2002-04). For Rogers, last season’s games averaged 294,000 viewers (which might be higher if the net excluded the 45 off-prime and weekend games). About 84,000 A18-49 viewers are included in Rogers’ average.
