MiC reached out to some of Canada’s media agency leaders to find out their thoughts on some of the bigger issues facing the industry right now, and how they plan to address them. Today, we feature new MediaCom CEO Jamie Edwards, who took over from Amanda Ploughman earlier this year.
What are the biggest challenges facing media agencies today?
Proving they deliver business results and growth for clients in the new economy.

Putting business and marketing science at the heart of our strategy and planning product to make innovation and ideas accountable.
What media do you think could most benefit from a reconsideration of valuation? Why?
All of them. They are all digitalizing and digital is not a channel.
Where do you see the biggest opportunity for growth in 2011?
Digital, content, analytics and creating immersive consumer experiences in media.
What are you most proud of at your agency in 2010?
Accepting that the media industry has fundamentally changed and that this requires new ways of thinking and working to deliver better results for clients.
How will you top it next year?
Accepting that again.
