The Globe and Mail is pushing forward with its interactive contest strategy. This time, it’s encouraging readers to find a question in the paper’s Globe Life section and answer it online for a chance to win one of two 10-day Caribbean cruise trips for two.
The Globe launched a microsite today at GlobeandMail.com/sailaway. The contest wraps up on November 18, and the cruise sets sail at the end of January 2008. In an unusual twist, the cruise will be hosted by Globe publisher Phillip Crawley and editor-in-chief Edward Greenspon. Food will be served by Food Network celeb chefs Anna Olson, Anthony Sedlak and Lynn Crawford. The Globe‘s wine expert, Beppi Crosariol, will host tastings.
The sailaway contest is modeled much like the Globe‘s recent Toronto International Film Festival promo and the 1Kaday giveaway.
The contest is being marketed via print, online and radio. Toronto-based Naked Creative handles creative for the Globe; Gaggi Media handles media buying; and Environics Communications handles PR.
