After the success of their 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games coverage, CTV and Rogers Broadcasting are talking about teaming up again to mount a joint bid for the 2014/2016 Olympics Games.
‘Vancouver 2010 was such an unprecedented experience that we’d be remiss not to have discussions for future bids,’ Andrea Goldstein, a spokesperson for the CTV/Rogers-led Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium, told MiC sister publication Playback Daily.
‘Each new set of Games brings a new set of opportunities, and we will evaluate accordingly,’ Goldstein added as CTV and Rogers await directions from the International Olympic Committee on when formal bids for the 2014 Games in Sochi, Russia, and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, are to be submitted.
Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium is still to broadcast the 2012 Summer Games from Britain to Canadians.
