Citing rising operating costs, lack of government funding and a limited pool of brands targeting men, Toronto-based Toro suspended publication today. The March issue, which was slated for release Feb. 20th, will not be distributed. Publisher Dinah Quattrin says that despite annual growth since its 2003 launch, there wasn’t enough ad revenue in Canada to support a high-quality general interest men’s magazine: ‘The prospect of significant profits wasn’t in the foreseeable future.’
