The Dresden Files, based on the best-selling Jim Butcher novels, is set for a Canadian premiere on Chum Television’s Space channel on Jan. 21 at 9 pm ET / 6 pm PT, nestled between the Sunday night season premieres for Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Gallactica. The new supernatural detective thriller series was shot in Toronto for the Sci Fi Channel in the US, which has backed it up with a microsite feature that lets users help the main character solve a crime (www.scifi.com/dresden).
Leading the show’s cast is Paul Blackthorne (24) as private detective Harry Dresden – the only wizard who advertises in the Chicago Yellow Pages and backs up the Chicago Police Department for cases involving demons, vampires, werewolves. The cast also includes Valerie Cruz (Nip/Tuck, Invasion), Terrence Mann (Broadway’s Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast), and Conrad Coates (The Sentinel).
