CHUM Rocks this fall

Everybody will love CHUM - they got Chris Rock. CHUM Television's new season lineup is headlined by the hottest fall TV property, and folks are already speculating what it will be worth. Everybody Hates Chris is the new Paramount series narrated by comedian Chris Rock, based on his experiences as a teen in Brooklyn, and was the darling of upfront screenings.

Other new series include the Don Johnson-starring drama Just Legal from Jerry Bruckheimer, about crusading underdog lawyers (A-Channels, Citytv (Winnipeg, Calgary & Edmonton) & CitytvHD); the Sex and the City-esque comedy Hot Properties about four gals who sell Manhattan real estate (A-Channel Ontario, Citytv Winnipeg, Calgary & Edmonton); the McG drama Supernatural in which paranormal evil is battled (Citytv and Space); and the Aaron Spelling crime drama about a covert ops team, Wanted.

In unscripted fare, Three Wishes, the desire-granting hour-long series starring Amy Grant, will air on Citytv. Canadian reality includes Bathroom Divas for toilet opera stars on Bravo!, and wish-granting MuchMusic style, Much 911.

The caster also picked up returning series Hope and Faith, starring Faith Ford and Kelly Ripa (A-Channels, Citytv Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton).

Mid-season brings on Barry Levinson’s tale of sex-ed at the college level, Bedford Diaries (Citytv &HD); and South Beach, a drama from J-Lo’s prodco and WB; as well as another Bruckheimer series Modern Men about three buddies who seek help from a female life coach (A-Channel).

Cancon offerings include the sci-fi series Ice Corps, premised on francophone novels by George J. Arnaud in which the earth is suffering an ice age (Space), and the HD period drama Young Blades, premised on the sword antics of the Three Musketeers kids, starring Bruce Boxleitner (A-Channels). Space will also air the Canadian doc series Shadow Hunter starring ghosthunter Darryll Walsh.

The Stargate spinoff series Stargate Atlantis will come to Citytv &HD, midseason on Space.
