Kijiji kicks off 2016 with hiring spree

The online classified network has added to its display team, including bringing Kevin Hughes on board as sales excellence manager.

Online classified network Kijiji has hired a handful of new people for its Canadian team.

Mark Lister, ‎senior director, commercial business, Kijiji , says the raft of hires is aimed at helping the company expand with blue chip clients as well as local business.

Paul Nowosad, joins Kijiji this month as head of product solutions on Kijiji’s network, which also includes eBay and StubHub. He has previously held senior roles with Yellow Pages, Yahoo and Ontario Lottery and Gaming.

Kevin Hughes has been added to the display team as sales excellence manager for Kijiji Canada, tasked with strengthening the capabilities of the sales team to make them more efficient and effective for clients. Hughes most recently worked at Microsoft as sales excellence manager on its retail products, including Xbox, Surface and Windows.

Kijiji has also added three business development managers: Virgie Van Den Corput, Genevieve Michaud and Linda Bevacqua.

Van Den Corput has been promoted to the new role from Kijiji’s autos team, where she worked as an account manager. She will handle the company’s direct business. Michaud and Bevacqua both join Kijiji from Olive Media and will work together to handle display business.

My Le is also joining the Kijiji team, moving over from GroupM Canada to become an ad operations specialist at the company.

Kijiji currently gets about 14 million unique visitors a month in Canada, that number expands to 17 million when eBay and StubHub are included.
