BBM Overview: New PPM Ratings

In Toronto, CHFI-FM topped the radio-diary charts with the most share, while CKNW led in Vancouver.

As we say bid summer a fond farewell, BBM has left us a token to remember her by – the new PPM radio ratings. Today’s radio release from BBM completes the 13-week period from May 31 to Aug. 29. This marks the fourth 13-week period in the new era of measurement for Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. Here are some of the numbers:

Toronto: Bragging rights at the top of the ratings heap go to CHFI-FM with a 12.4% share of hours tuned for A12+ (down from 13.7% last time) followed by up-and-comer BOOM-FM with 10.4% (up from 9.5%) and CHUM-FM at 10.2% (up from 9.4%).

Office favourite CHUM-FM leads the way for females 25 to 54 with a 17.8% share (down from 16.2%) followed by another office station CHFI-FM with 13.7% share (down from 16.6%) and BOOM-FM with 13.7% (up from 12.0%). Q107 is on top for males 25 to 54, posting a 14.3% share (down from 14.8% in the last 13-week book). The Edge held their #1 slot with males 18 to 34 turning in a 16.4% share (up from 15.7%).

Vancouver: CKNW holds the #1 spot for A12+ with a 12.5% share of hours tuned (down from 14.6% last time out). JACK-FM is coming on strong, taking the top spot for females 25 to 54 with a 12.9% share (up from 10.3%) followed by perennial office station 103.5QM-FM, which posted a 12.2% share (down from 14.7%). JACK-FM also led the way with male 25 to 54 listeners, delivering a 10.4% share (up from 7.9%). The Beat tops the list for males 18 to 34 with 16.7% share of hours tuned, followed by the FOX at 11.4%. When it comes to females 18 to 34, The Beat takes top spot with a 15.7% share.
