Campbell’s Chunky gets interactive

New online contest prods sports communities across the country to rally behind their coaches - and the brand.

Campbell’s Chunky and the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) just launched the Chunky MVC, Most Valuable Coach – an interactive, integrated campaign by OMD Toronto encouraging players, parents, colleagues and community members to nominate their favourite coaches, in any sport and at any level, for the chance to win the Chunky MVC Tribute Day for their team, family and friends.

Nominations can be submitted online until Jan. 29 at, where participants are asked to provide short essays highlighting why they think their coach should be named the Chunky Most Valuable Coach. Four finalist coaches will be chosen, hailing from any sport or skill level.

TSN is also on board as a media partner and will produce TV promo spots featuring the four finalists as well as an online video featuring each nominated coach, to help direct communities to vote online for their favourite coach.

The winning coach will receive the grand prize of the Chunky MVC Tribute Day, hosted by a member of the TSN Coach Squad and airing on TSN. The day includes a Big League Breakfast with a TSN personality and a nationally recognized coach from the winner’s sport, along with a VIP Training Camp to honour the winner’s team, an award ceremony and a Chunky soup and chili feast. The winner’s community sport organization will also receive $5,000.
