Red Bull Media House’s Jason Ford and Al Jazeera’s Andrea Schmidt are among the latest production executives to join Vice Canada, as the Rogers and Vice Media joint venture prepares to launch its production studio and Canadian TV network.
Ford joins Vice Canada as VP production from his post as supervising/executive producer moving pictures at Red Bull Media House in Toronto. Schmidt takes on the role of executive producer at Vice Canada following her time as head of production on Al Jazeera’s current affairs documentary show. Tania Natcheff, who was previously an executive producer at the CBC, has been named director, factual programming at Vice Canada.
As previously announced, Michael Kronish is EVP, television and online at Vice Canada, and will oversee Canadian-produced content headed to television, mobile and online.
On the digital editorial side, journalist and documentary producer Patrick McGuire was promoted to head of content, Vice Canada, and will oversee original digital production for the brand. Other additions to the editorial team include Josh Visser as managing editor of Vice.com, Chris Bilton as deputy editor of Vice.Com and Karon Liu as managing editor of Vice’s food-dedicated digital video channel and website, Munchies.
