The Toronto-HQ’d Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada announced yesterday it has hired Joanne de Visser as director of council initiatives. Formerly Coca-Cola Canada’s senior manager of interactive, de Visser is a veteran marketing professional from both the agency and client sides of the packaged-goods sector. She is credited with spearheading the strategy that produced the successful icoke.ca website and loyalty program.
While at Coca-Cola, de Visser worked on national beverage brands Sprite, Mello Yello and Barq’s. ‘What I hope to bring to (the new position),’ says de Visser, ‘is a ‘client-side’ perspective, which will help IAB Canada continue to provide high value to members, and ensure key marketing decision-makers have all the tools they need to deliver effective and integrated campaigns for their brands.’
