The first strategic media agency, PHD Canada, is donating $4,500 to the Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies (OACAS). The funds were raised at its first annual PHD Golf Invitational at Maples of Ballantrae Golf Club this summer.

The fully sponsored charity event with 44 golfers was developed with the support of its sponsors – Cineplex, AOL, CTV, NewAd, Yahoo, CanWest, 24/7 Real Media, the Globe and Mail, MSN Sympatico, Auto Trader, Fidelity Investments and Rogers – and clients like Boston Pizza, Home Hardware and Hershey.

‘We are proud to support the OACAS and their important efforts across Ontario’s communities,’ said Fred Forster, president of PHD Canada, adding that the company plans to make the event bigger and better next year.

The funds will be used to organize a conference with workshops for youth in care to help them develop the skills to become independent and successful adults.

‘OACAS is very grateful for the support and contribution of PHD Canada,’ says Jeanette Lewis, executive director, OACAS.

PHD currently pitches its creative ideas and consumer insights to clients Loblaws, Honda, Unilever, Home Hardware and Boston Pizza.
