Metro pops in pink

The free daily is sporting a pretty pink hue on all of its pages today in a promotional effort to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Metro painted Canada pink this morning with breast cancer awareness editions in all seven of its markets.

The commuter daily featured a pink theme on all of its pages today, a promotional media execution in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The issue also featured a pink cover wrap advertising this Sunday’s CIBC Run for the Cure event. The pink theme ran in all of the paper’s markets, which include Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

The website, Metronews.ca, is also sporting a pink theme today.

‘Metro’s breast cancer awareness package – in our pink issue and on Metronews.ca – offers readers the latest information about the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer,’ Charlotte Empey, editor-in-chief, said in a press release. ‘But we don’t stop there. We also share compelling stories of strength, courage and the remarkable resilience of the human spirit.’

The pink issue features four pages of breast cancer content, including results of recent scientific studies, statistics, stories from breast cancer survivors, and Q and A with singer-songwriter and survivor Melissa Etheridge, and a story about male breast cancer.
