Blue Ant Media has officially announced the release of Travel+Escape’s digital magazine, which launched with two issues currently available on iPad and iPhone.
Simon Foster, SVP of digital and business development, tells MiC that the magazine will feature entirely original content and was designed to complement and build upon Travel+Escape’s TV and online offerings, adding that now was the time to launch it as Blue Ant is aggressively looking to build the brand’s audience.
Foster says the magazine was also meant to open up new opportunities for Travel+Escape’s advertising partners. Beyond static full-page and half-page ads, the magazine will offer customized interactive ads, including video spots. Travel+Escape Magazine will also offer advertisers branded content opportunities, and ad space in the magazine can be bought separately, or packaged with buys on TV and online.
Targeted at adults aged 25 to 54, Travel+Escape Magazine‘s inaugural issues are based around “Five Destinations for Facing your Fears” and “10 Ways to Discover Brazil.” The magazine offers a look at seldom-explored destinations, as well as the hotels and restaurants in these locations, and incorporates interactive elements like videos and 360 images that leverage the iPad and iPhone’s gyroscope technology.
Foster says the magazine launched with two issues to allow it to experiment with its format and gather feedback from readers.
Going forward, Travel+Escape Magazine will publish monthly.
