GroupM brings m/SIX to North America

The UK-based media agency is opening an office in New York, which will be led by David Stopforth and has the scope to work with Canadian clients.

GroupM has announced it is expanding its UK-based media agency m/SIX, which operates as an equity partnership between the media company and creative agency CHI & Partners, into North America.

The agency’s new outpost will be in New York and will be headed up by David Stopforth as managing director. Stopforth comes to m/SIX from his most recent position as group strategy director at ZenithOptimedia in New York.

In addition to working with clients in the US, a GroupM representative has confirmed that the expanded agency will also have the scope to work with Canadian clients as well as international clients that do business in Canada.

m/SIX originally launched in the spring of 2012 after being initially established in 2008 as mCHI to offer CHI clients media services along with its existing creative work. It expanded from there to target a wider pool of clients who were seeking media-only marketing solutions, according to a release on the expansion.
