Target teams up with Chatelaine for bonus issue

The company has partnered with the Rogers Media magazine to create a branded edition, due out Sept. 23.

Rogers Media has partnered with Target Canada to create a branded 13th issue of its Chatelaine magazine.

The branded issue will be sent to the magazine’s subscribers on Sept. 23 and will also be given to customers as a gift with purchase at select Target Canada stores.

Joanne Elson, public relations manager, Target Canada, tells MiC the deal was brokered through the company’s media agency, Carat and has been in the works since the end of 2012.

Select content from the issue will also be available on Chatelaine‘s iPad app as well as on Target.ca. A special Chatelaine episode of Cityline will feature content from the bonus issue on Tuesday Sept. 17.

All content in the issue of the magazine, from the recipes to fall fashion spreads, was created by Chatelaine‘s editorial team, with each piece being available in Target Canada stores. Editorial content was “inspired by” Target Canada but the brand did not see any of the articles or photo spreads until the magazine was printed, says Tara Tucker, publisher, Chatelaine. Ads in the 132-page issue were created by the Rogers Media Creative Group in collaboration with Target Canada.
