Crucial Interactive has acquired Okra Media, a two-year-old company that specializes in building rich-media-based cross-platform ads.
Toronto-based digital ad company Crucial has been working with Okra Media since the company launched, focusing projects on its flagship product, Contobox. The platform integrates brand assets or content from videos to image galleries into a banner and uses HTML5 smart technology to create microsites within the ad unit. The product has been used by clients including BMW, Jaguar, Staples and WestJet.
Petar Bozinovski, president of Crucial Interactive, tells MiC Okra Media has about 17 employees, with offices in Montreal and overseas, bringing the total number of people working for his company to around 30. Okra Media’s team includes three in Montreal that are working to evolve the Contobox ad unit and add to the media co’s offerings.
