Maxus has announced that Steve Williams is leaving Omnicom’s PHD New York to take on the role of North American CEO at the GroupM agency.

Williams is taking over the role from Louis Jones, who recently announced his retirement after more than four years in the position. Williams starts in June and will report to Maxus Global CEO Vikram Sakhuja and GroupM North America CEO Kelly Clark.

Prior to his two years as president of PHD New York, Williams worked as CEO of the OMD Group in the UK, according to a release from Maxus.
