Studio B project seeks out digital creator community

On its 10th birthday, Montreal-based Bicom Communications launches a four-month project to deepen its access to digital creators.

To build its rapport with the hottest new digital talent, Montreal-based Bicom Communications is launching a space to cultivate a YouTube creator community.

Studio B is a short-term shared space that will bring together 20 YouTube creators to its offices in Montreal’s Mile-End district. Over four months creators will participate in workshops, share and exchange ideas and potentially meet some of their fans.

The PR agency aims to deepen its relationship with influencers and influencer-marketing through the initiative. The PR agency already has a talent management arm, which represents a roster of artists, VJs and presenters.

Vikcy Boudreau, general manager and founder of Montreal-based Bicom Communications, which has already been working with YouTube creators, noted that the decision was based on growing its company’s position in and access to the creator talent pool. In developing the Studio B idea, Boudreau says her team learned about the challenges that creators face in monetizing their creative assets and growing their audience so studio sessions are aimed at helping creators address those challenges.

The project will also bring other experts into the project – experts in marketing, branding and digital promotion and artistic direction will provide guidance to content creators during the course of the project. One YouTuber will also win a chance to engage his or her fans in a meet-and-greet session at Studio B.
