MEC wins Hertz

The GroupM agency will handle the car rental co's work in Canada, the U.S. and Latin America.

MEC has a new client with news that the GroupM agency has won the business for Hertz in Canada, the U.S. and Latin America.

The win covers the company’s Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands, and was confirmed by Michele Pauchuk, CEO at MEC Canada.

Hertz is bringing more of its work under GroupM with the win. The car rental company already works with Mindshare in EMEA.

The account move comes less than a year after Hertz added a new global exec VP and CMO, hiring Matt Jauchius last October, according to a post on the account win on Ad Age.

The car rental company spent $170 million on global advertising in 2015 and $199 million in 2014, according to its 10-K report.
