Kijiji for Business has appointed a head of display sales in Toronto.
France Brunelle will lead a team of seven account executives across Canada. She joins with more than 20 years of digital display experience at companies such as Yellow Pages Group and Index Exchange.
Reporting to Chris Quinn, who became Kijiji’s head of display advertising in December, Brunelle’s focus will be on developing and strengthening new and current partnerships with media agencies.
Currently, Kijiji works with Omnicom Media Group, GroupM and Dentsu Aegis Network among others, which includes the majority of agency brands that fall under each group, according to Quinn.
The head of display sales position, which took several months to fill, was reworked to go beyond day-to-day sales management to also involve sales strategy, said Quinn.
According to the site, Kijiji sees more than 15 million unique visitors per month. Now, said Quinn, the company is looking to the future with ad targeting.
“We’re able to target users in a variety of ways depending on their actions. Whether it’s searching or browsing different types of categories or what we like to call ‘intent,’ which is a user actually replying to a seller.”
Rather than simply placing an ad on one of its web pages, Quinn said the goal is to determine what Canadians are engaging with beyond a single brand or category.
“The fact that we have these views and these insights on what Canadians are looking for in terms of their shopping experience, we really want to cater some of our newer products around those insights,” he told MiC.
