A new episode of The Big Bang Theory has finally been beaten in the Numeris rankings – on a technicality.
According to the Numeris charts for Jan. 7 to 13, Big Bang‘s weekly run received an average-minute audience (2+) of 2.21 million viewers, putting it behind both its prequel series Young Sheldon and Global medical drama New Amsterdam. However, The Big Bang Theory, which did air a new episode Jan. 10, also aired an episode Jan. 7, resulting in it being programmed as a multi-night program and therefore not counted on MiC‘s Numeris charts (as it happens, the 2.21 million total for Big Bang is its average split among the two episodes – not just the new Thursday episode).
Young Sheldon pulled in 2.62 million viewers, while New Amsterdam came up close behind at 2.27 million viewers. Rounding out the top-five were CTV’s Blue Bloods and The Connors, followed by Global’s long-running NCIS.
Young Sheldon managed to top most Anglophone regions, although New Amsterdam fared better in the West.
