Justin Stockman to lead brand partnerships at Bell Media

The former VP of premium SVOD and OTT takes the role VP of brand partnerships and client strategy following the departure of Alyson Walker.

Justin Stockman 2Justin Stockman has been promoted to the role of VP, brand partnerships and client strategy for Bell Media’s sales division.

In the position, Stockman will lead the sales team in leveraging Bell Media’s content, production, data and platforms with clients, agencies, and internal stakeholders while driving new revenue opportunities through brand integrations and data-driven client strategies.

He assumes the post from Alyson Walker, who left the company last month to join Toronto-headquartered e-sports and video game entertainment company OverActive Media Group. (Bell Media parent company BCE holds a minority stake in the company).

Stockman is well known to the Canadian production community, having spent the past three years in the role of VP, premium SVOD and OTT at Bell Media. Previously he was the VP of business and channel strategy (2013 to 2016) and, before that, was executive director of marketing for Bell Media’s suite of specialty channels (2011 to 2013). Stockman was instrumental in the launch of the rebranded Crave service and was responsible for renegotiating multiple content deals with Hollywood studios to reduce costs and secure enhanced rights flexibility. During his tenure, Crave’s subscribers eventually rose to 2.3 million subscribers (as of February).

With the promotion, Stockman will retain oversight of the Much Studios, which has been moved under Bell Media’s brand partnerships portfolio. Bell Media has not named a replacement to Stockman’s previous position of VP, premium SVOD and OTT.
