Torstar hires new head of digital ad products

Chris Patheiger will lead development as the publisher continues to invest in data and performance.

Torstar has brought on Chris Patheiger as its head of digital advertising products to help develop new, data-focused solutions for advertisers.

A new title within Torstar, Patheiger will be responsible for digital ad product development throughout the company, including improvements within its existing solutions and building a pipeline for new products. Andrew Gordon, VP of ad operations at Torstar, says it is part of the company “doubling down on data and performance products” for clients.

Patheiger has spent the last three-and-a-half years as director of data management at AutoTrader, where he was responsible for national advertising products and DMP strategy. Prior to that, he had founded programmatic trading company Redux Media, which was acquired by Transcontinental in 2012, after which he became the publishing company’s VP marketing product management. He left TC in 2015 to start Uncle Smoke BBQ, an ecommerce-focused restaurant brand.
