Toyota buys the top in Toronto: Media Monitors

Several brands kicked off new radio pushes in a big way.

After several weeks of the same brands trading spots on the list of Toronto’s most active radio advertisers, a few new brands have supplanted them, according to Media Monitors data for May 23 – 29.

The Toyota Dealer Association moved up by one to take the top spot, supporting its summer sale promotions. It was followed by four brands new to the top ten: BMO, Panago Pizza, President’s Choice and Hyundai. BMO, Panaga and Hyundai all began new radio campaigns last week, while President’s Choice increased the radio buy behind a campaign supporting its Summer Insider’s Report.

President’s Choice also boosted its buy in Montreal to be the third-most active radio advertiser. The top two spots were once again taken by Virgin Plus and the Government of Quebec, with McDonald’s and Bell in fourth and fifth.

Categorically, banks, QSRs and automakers were the most active radio advertisers in Toronto, with automakers and public service organizations most active in Montreal.
