Outfront acquires Leading Outdoor’s full inventory of digital screens

All of the company's digital signage will be taken over to add to a growing inventory in Calgary.

Outfront Media Canada has acquired all 14 of Leading Outdoor’s digital screens, adding to its inventory in Calgary.

Leading Outdoor’s digital signs all feature high resolution displays and a unique concave design that offer a 40% larger face than a traditional flat screen. They are all located alongside prime roadways throughout Calgary.

The screens will be added to Outfront’s existing inventory in Calgary, which includes 38 digital poster assets, 222 posters and 824 transit shelters under its street furniture agreement with the City of Calgary.

Michele Erskine, CEO of Outfront Canada, said the acquisition gives the company even better coverage in “a vibrant, growing market,” with options for brands and campaigns of all sizes. She also added that the company was “honoured” to be entrusted with Leading’s plant.

Leading Outdoor owner, president and CEO Vance MacDonald Sr. founded the company in 2012 with his son, Vance MacDonald Jr., having previously held senior Western Canadian roles with the likes of Pattison and Mediacom.
