Automakers buy the top in Toronto: Media Monitors

Meanwhile, the Government of Quebec returned to the top of the list in Montreal.

Car brands and their dealers stepped up their radio presence last week, according to Media Monitors data for the week of July 11 to 17.

Subaru had the most radio spots in Toronto as it debuted a new summer driving campaign, followed in second by the Ford Dealer Association. Last week’s top two radio advertisers, Subway and Desjardins Insurance, were bumped down to third and fourth. They were followed by three brands kicking off new radio pushes: Planet Fitness, Public Mobile and Speedy Glass.

Categorically, however, QSRs were still the most active radio advertisers in Toronto, followed by business services and ads for live performance venues.

In Montreal, the Government of Quebec returned to the top of the list after a long absence, followed closely by Bell. Subway held on to its number three spot from the previous week, while McDonald’s dipped down to fourth.

QSRs were also the most active group of advertisers in Montreal, followed by automakers.
