Flanker mobile carriers are keeping up their summer radio pushes, according to Media Monitors data for Aug. 8 to 14.
Chatr Mobile maintained its spot as the most active radio advertiser in Toronto, followed by Virgin Plus, which boosted its buy to jump from sixth to second. They were followed by three brands beginning new radio pushes: the Canadian National Exhibition, Benjamin Moore and Subaru.
Meanwhile, in Montreal, Virgin made a big boost in its buy – 1100 spots, well above the typical average for the city’s most active radio advertiser – to bump the Government of Quebec from the top spot. McDonald’s and Chatr maintained their number three and four spots, respectively, from the previous week, while Bell increased the buy behind a campaign for its internet services to round out the top five.
Categorically, wireless carriers were the most active group of advertisers in both Toronto and Montreal.
