People in Toronto were hearing a lot about a different Ontario on the radio last week, according to Media Monitors data for the week of Sept. 26 to Oct. 2.
Ontario – the city in California, not the province – began a fall radio push at just under 1,000 spots, making it the most active radio advertiser in Toronto. It was followed by Telus, while the Government of Alberta remained in third with its push to attract Torontonians to move to the province. Last week’s most active advertiser, Toyota, dipped to fifth.
In Montreal, Subway moved up a spot to top the list, followed by Desjardins, IHeartRadio, Exo and Casino Montreal, which all made jumps up the list.
Categorically, ads from business services, insurance providers and governments were the most present in Toronto. Business services, restaurants and banks were most active in Montreal.
