Wine Rack is looking to have an impact on the airwaves ahead of the holiday season, according to Media Monitors data for the week of Nov. 28 to Dec. 4.
The Arterra-owned retailer bought the most radio spots in Toronto last week, followed by CIBC and Spence Diamonds, both of which boosted their buys. Lobbying ads supporting the Ontario government’s controversial “More Homes Built Faster Act” had the fourth-largest presence, with Canadian Tire’s holiday campaign rounding out the top five.
In Montreal, the Government of Quebec increased its buy to re-take to top spot. Consolidated Credit Counseling Services of Canada and Bell both made big increases in their radio buy for the second and third spot, with Ford making a smaller increase behind a campaign for the new F-150 model to take fourth. Previous top buyer Virgin Plus dipped to fifth.
Categorically, ads for banks, live performance and restaurants had the most presence in Toronto. In Montreal, restaurants, wireless carriers and automakers bought the most ads.
