Signal Hill hires one of the first podcast researchers

Paul Riismandel joins the audio insights firm to drive innovation in podcast measurement.

Toronto-based audio research firm Signal Hill Insights has hired Paul Riismandel as a partner and chief insights officer.

In his new role, Riismandel will focus on furthering innovation in podcast measurement, combining ad effectiveness, creative analysis and audience insights. He will continue to be based in Portland, where he will also head up Signal Hill’s growing U.S. operations.

Riismandel brings more than 20 years of radio and digital media experience to his new role, and was one of the industry’s first researchers in podcast advertising. He joined Midroll Media in 2014 and continued through the company’s acquisitions by Stitcher and later SiriusXM in 2020,  becoming senior director of insights in the company’s ad division.
