QSRs were once again the most active group of TV advertisers in Canada, in most cases by a significant margin, according to AdEase data for the week of Jan. 23 to 29.
That was helped by McDonald’s, which was the second-biggest advertiser in Canada’s four biggest markets, as well as the top buyer on specialty. The bulk of the QSR’s buy went to ads promoting its spicy chicken nuggets.
Wendy’s also had a significant buy behind spots for french toast items on its breakfast menu, while Subway and Popeye’s also found themselves in the top ten in several markets.
Other major advertisers last week were Advil, which was once again most active in Vancouver and Calgary, as well as third in Toronto. Crave, CityTV and Sportsnet also continued strong promotional pushes behind their respective programing, while Leon’s ads for its current sale helped furniture stores remain one of the most active advertiser categories overall.
