Major radio buyers return to the top of the rankings: AdEase

Subway and the Government of Alberta once again bought the most ad spots in several markets.

A number of familiar radio advertisers either began new pushes – or boosted existing ones – according to AdEase data for the week of Feb. 27 to March 5.

In Toronto and Vancouver, Subway began a new radio push on the top of the rankings, with the bulk of the spots promoting the new Teriyaki crunch sandwiches. In Calgary and Edmonton, the Government of Alberta returned to the top with ads for its economic support and healthcare programs. In Ottawa, Desjardins maintained its top spot from the previous week.

CTV was also a big buyer, going up the list in several markets and taking the top spot in Montreal. Categorically, TV networks were ranked either first, second or third across major radio markets, except in Quebec City, where they were seventh.
