Ideon picks up sales duties for Reader’s Digest

The company's 15 brands reach over 8.4 million Canadians.

Digital rep firm Ideon Media has been appointed exclusive ad sales partner for Reader’s Digest Media, covering all 15 of its publishing brands.

Reader’s Digest online properties include the websites for its namesake, as well as the digital platforms for Sélection, Taste of Home, Family Handyman, The Healthy, Birds & Blooms and Best Health. It also owns streaming brands The Pet Collective, FailArmy, At Home with Family Handyman, People Are Awesome and WeatherSpy. According to Comscore, the properties reach more than 8.4 million Canadians.

Kevin Bartus, Ideon Media’s president and CEO, says that in addition to working with the legacy Reader’s Digest brand, the company’s streaming platforms are also primed for a major push into connected TV.

According to Ideon, RD Media’s digital network experiences a high level of user engagement, with Readersdigest.ca having more than triple the average views per visitor than competitors. According to ComScore data, average views per visitor on French version Selection.ca is 160% higher than its competitors, and time spent on Familyhandyman.com is 70% higher than competitors. In addition, Reader’s Digest magazine has a long streak as the most-read monthly magazine in Canada, according to Vividata.

Last month, Ideon added rep duties for Apartment Therapy to its portfolio, which also includes BDG Media, Vice Media, Vox Media, IGN, Valnet, Kidoz and Sing Tao Media. Ideon also owns and operates several of its own sites, including SavvyMom, 29Secrets and AmongMen.
