Tims and McDonald’s switch spots at the top: AdEase TV

QSRs continue to be the most active TV advertisers in Canada by a significant margin.

Tim Hortons overtook McDonald’s as the most active TV advertiser in Canada, according to media monitoring data from AdEase for July 10 to 16.

While Tims has several different campaigns in-market, the biggest focus of last week’s buy was a new campaign promoting this year’s “Camp Day” CSR initiative. The bulk of McDonald’s buy went to its breakfast menu and summer drink promotions. Both restaurants were significantly ahead of Subway, which held on to the third place spot.

Downy was once again the fourth-most active, while Leon’s and The Brick both jumped back into the national top ten with ads for new sales events.

Though it was only a top-ten advertiser in Vancouver, Molson’s campaign for its family of beers continues to have a significant presence, being the second-most played individual ad last week.

Categorically, QSRs were the most active group of TV advertisers for yet another week, as Wendy’s and Burger King were also in the national top ten, with A&W and Popeye’s also having a significant presence.
