Canada’s QSRs increased their already formidable TV ad buys last week, according to media monitoring data from AdEase for Aug. 21 to 27.
McDonald’s was once again the most active TV advertiser across the country. The bulk of its buy went to a new campaign for its “Mighty McMuffin,” though it also ran ads for its summer drink promotions and cold brew coffee.
Wendy’s increased its buy from the previous week to take second, with ads focused on its Baconator and breakfast wraps. Burger King moved up to eighth as it began a new campign for the Whopper, while Subway moved to ninth as it continued ads featuring Scottie Barnes promoting the restaurant’s lineup of bowls. Though it didn’t rank nationally, Popeye’s was a top-ten TV advertiser in Calgary.
Outside of restaurants, Amazon held on to its third-place spot as it continued a back-to-school campaign. Leon’s was last week’s biggest mover, taking the fourth-place spot with ads for its latest sales event.
