Support for new menu items helped Tim Hortons take the spot as Canada’s most active radio advertiser last week, according to media monitoring data from AdEase for Aug. 28 to Sept. 3.

At the national level, Tims landed on top with a pair of new campaigns: one for its new Savory Twists menu item, and another for its lineup of pumpkin spice-flavoured beverages.

McDonald’s was once again the second-most active radio advertiser, with the bulk of its buy going to a campaign for the Mighty McMuffin breakfast sandwhich. Staples jumped up to third by boosting radio support for its 90s-themed back to school ads.

By category, QSRs took back their spot as the most active group of radio advertisers. In addition to McDonald’s and Tims, Wendy’s also had a significant buy across markets, holding on to its seventh-place spot nationally.
