During the week of Dec. 25 to 31, The Brick took the top spot from McDonald’s as the most active advertiser in Canada, according to AdEase’s latest TV report.

With 5,672 combined occurrences, The Brick ranked first in almost all markets, except Montreal. For its part, McDonald’s came in the top five in almost every city, with 2,003 occurrences in total.

Nationally in specialty, Bell Media’s Crave held the top spot with 5,021 occurrences. It was followed by the Sleep Country mattress brand, which has maintained its TV presence in recent weeks.

Leon’s continued to sit in the top 10. According to AdEase’s most recent data, the furniture company recorded 248 more occurrences than the second week of December, placing second in Calgary, third in Toronto, and fifth in Vancouver.

On the category front, one of the week’s biggest movers was office equipment and supplies stores. The category climbed 44 positions to place eighth in Calgary and 36 places to finish sixth in Vancouver.
