Kayak unveils a suite of AI-powered tools

The new products are designed to make travel decision-making faster and more intuitive.

The Kayak world travel search engine has added a new suite of AI products to make travel planning faster and easier for Canadians. The new products are the result of extensive training of ChatGPT’s AI model on Kayak’s proprietary database of billions of consumer travel queries.

The new AI products include Kayak PriceCheck, a patent-pending price comparison tool that allows users of the Kayak app to upload a screenshot of a flight itinerary from any competitor’s site. Kayak PriceCheck will check hundreds of sites to verify that the traveler is getting a great price.

Also newly launched is Ask Kayak, an AI-driven product designed to improve and personalize the search experience. It lets travelers use simple text entries to search and refine their results. After asking a question, travelers will see a chat box in the results page where they can input their specific hotel, car or flight requirements. For example, they can enter “United, nonstop, morning departure, <$500” and quickly see their results.

Ask Kayak started rolling out this week and will soon be available to all users in the U.S., U.K. and Canada with more markets to follow.

In addition, Kayak is also introducing other new trip planning tools. Provider Quality Scores rates Online Travel Agencies against a set of quality factors like price accuracy, customer service, fee transparency and customer satisfaction. The Kayak Trips feature is now offering live updates with a new simplified itinerary view, that keeps all the user’s travel plans in one place and allows them to build their itinerary through automatic inbox syncing.

Finally, Kayak Ad Solutions helps brands reach travelers with a range of opportunities from creative campaigns to in-line ads such as native, search or inbox ads. Kayak+ Audience Extension is an option that uses first-party data and segmentation to amplify campaign reach.
