Fans of Italian championship soccer will have more of the beautiful game to take in this season on TLN thanks to a new rights deal.
The network was previously only able to broadcast matches on Sundays. With the new rights deal, it will feature three live Serie A matches every Friday to Monday, depending on the week’s schedule.
For the uninitiated, Serie A is regarded as one of the best football leagues in the world and is followed by 4.4 million Canadians according to a Vividata 2021 study. The league also boasts diverse stars from more than 70 countries, including Brampton, Ontario’s own Tajon Buchanan, who signed with current league champions Inter Milan, earlier this year.
Additionally, for the first time, TLN TV will also provide coverage of both the Coppa Italia, a single-elimination tournament featuring all the top Italian clubs from Serie A, and the Italian Super Cup, a tournament taking place in January in Saudi Arabia that will feature the 2023-24 Coppa Italia finalists (Juventus & Atalanta) and the top two Serie A teams from the 2023-24 Serie A season (Inter Milan & AC Milan).
For brands looking to align themselves with the game, the network is offering a range of options from platinum sponsorships that cover the full season to specific game advertising. Sponsorship opportunities include social media branding, in-score advertising and soccer clock logos, which the company says allow brands to align themselves with high-quality sports content, and reach a dedicated audience of soccer fans.
TLN is planning a comprehensive multimedia campaign to promote this expanded coverage, which will include extensive social media engagement, television promotions, website scoreboard coverage, the TLN Soccer Portal and the Goal: TLN Soccer Newsletter.
