McDonald’s was the most active advertiser on radio during the week of September 2 to 8, according to the latest AdEase report.
With 6,816 combined occurrences, the QSR ranked first in Vancouver and Edmonton, second in Calgary, sixth in Ottawa, seventh in Montreal and ninth in Toronto.
Subway Restaurants came next with 6,391 combined occurrences. The advertiser ranked second in Montreal, third in Vancouver and Calgary, while coming in fourth in Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto.
Spence Diamonds, meanwhile, reduced its purchase to 3,489 total occurrences, as did Tim Hortons, which finished with 3,286. Canon also decreased its spend, recording 117 fewer occurrences than last week. Air Canada was among the brands that increased its purchase, finishing with 3,084 occurrences.
On the category side, QSRs, grocery stores and supermarkets, local government and furniture stores were some of the top spending groups. Banking, political associations, gyms, online sports betting and retirement community were among the categories that moved up the most on AdEase’s list.
