The latest AdEase report shows that Tim Hortons was the most active advertiser during the week of Sep. 30 to Oct. 6.
With 5,845 combined occurrences, the QSR landed third in Montreal, fourth in Calgary and Toronto, while coming in fifth in Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa and Quebec. The restaurant chain, however, reduced its spend compared to previous radio buying week, when it recorded 5,500 occurrences.
Desjardins Group was the second most active advertiser with 4,730 total occurrences, staying in all markets except Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. Spence Diamonds followed with 4,387 incidents, ranking in all markets except Montreal and Quebec. Both advertisers boosted their buy compared to last week.
McDonald’s, for its part, placed as the fourth most active advertiser (4,376 occurrences), ahead of Save-on-foods (4,190) and Government Of Ontario (3,803). And Toyota, which dominated the TV market last week, came in fifth with 3,334 occurrences, down 3,226 from the prior week.
Among the advertisers that rose significantly on the list were McDonald’s, which jumped 310 positions in Vancouver; retailer XPN World, which moved up 37 positions in Quebec; and The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, which climbed 31 positions in Calgary.
