The top spot in AdEase’s most active radio advertisers ranking still belongs to Subway.
During the week of Jan 13 to 19, the QSR scored 5,724 combined occurrences, landing first in Vancouver, second in Toronto, third in Calgary, while coming in sixth in Edmonton, seventh in Montreal and Quebec, and ninth in Ottawa. It reduced its spend compared to the previous radio buying week, when it was also the most active advertiser.
McDonald’s ranked second on the list, with 4,924 total instances, 383 occurrences more than the previous week. Spence Diamonds placed third with 4,035 occurrences, followed by Toyota dealers (3,346 occurrences), Desjardins Group (3,340 occurrences), and Destination Ontario (2,473 occurrences). While Spence and Toyota increased their buy from last week, Desjardins and Destination Ontario reduced it.
Among the marketers that moved up the most were ATB Financial, which rose 317 positions in Calgary; Edmonton Renovation Show, which jumped 131 places in Edmonton; and Marketplace Events, which finished eighth in Ottawa after climbing 254 spots in the city’s ranking.
QSRs; local government; dine-in restaurants and bars; and exhibitions were among the highest-spending groups of the week.
