Facebook will give airlines the chance to reach a broader audience through the expansion of its Flight Ads offering.
According to the social networking platform, the ad expansion will allow airlines to target potential travelers through customized ads aimed at users who have shown an interest in traveling through flight-related activity online.
Airlines will now be able to promote specific flight routes relevant to consumers based on their visits to various flight-related websites, apps or Facebook Pages.
In addition, airlines can now target users who have shown an interest in taking a trip but have not yet booked a flight, by placing ads promoting their company’s website.
Previously, Flight Ads could only target those who directly visited airline websites and apps to source their flights.
The expansion will roll out globally on Facebook, Instagram and Audience Network in the coming weeks.
